Interesting article. I suppose it is hard to be motivated about good health if you are worried about where money is going to come from.
But, there are plenty of poor people who smoke and drink like crazy and spend a fortune on those bad habits.
Poverty sucks.

The poor seem to waste their money more on things that don't count, looking for some joy in life. The exact opposite happens.
