Network - "There is no democracy"

Most people just want to be left alone to live their lives. Countries and /or corporations, sometimes it is hard to distinguish between the two, count on that. Many books and movies over the years have talked about this, none better then the movie Network.

Soggy Bottom Boys - I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow

Goldman Sachs Has No Honor!

The following sentences are from the web site of Goldman Sachs.

We have a responsibility to our clients, our shareholders, our employees and our communities to support and fund ideas and facilitate growth. We do so by investing in people, businesses and our communities around the world.

Connecting people and capital.
Providing advice and financing.
Helping clients manage risk.

None of this rings true now does it?

They are liar's and cheats. They are not only dealing from the bottom of the deck, they are using a second deck. Only you don't know there is a second deck.

They look at a potential investor as a lamb to be brought to slaughter.

Unfortunately, they are not alone.

Are there any good people out there? Of course, but their voices are muted in the hubris and arrogance of Wall Street.

When the World Bank Lends A Helping Hand.....

A moment of seriousness....

With the economic crisis in Greece, one reads about the World Bank stepping in along with the European Union, coming up with a way to bail out a country in trouble. Some big figures are being bandied about, to the tune of 60 billion dollars or more. It is a loan, and with all loans, there must be some type of collateral to insure the repayment of the loan.

If the past can be used to predict the future, Greece is in big trouble.

Part of the problem

World Bank conditions

Water privatization

Sociologist Michael Goldman has argued that “Industry analysts predict that private water will soon be a capitalized market as precious, and as war-provoking, as oil”.[48] Goldman says “These days, an indebted country cannot borrow capital from the World Bank or IMF without a domestic water privatization policy as a precondition”.[49] The Bank is utilizing “the 'Washington Consensus' model of "development" to promote water privatization.

Following this model, the World Bank is forcing many countries to commodify their water resources, rather than using their expertise in the public sector to acknowledge water as a universal human right and an essential public service”.[50] The push for water privatization development plays upon “the shocking tragedy that much of the world lacks affordable clean water”. This image creates “new opportunities in development, though it may have little to do with ultimately quenching” the needs of impoverished countries.

“The problem of water scarcity for the world’s poor has been analyzed by the World Bank as one in which the public sector has failed to deliver, and has therefore prevented development from “taking off”, and the economy from modernizing. If the state cannot deliver something as basic as water and sanitation, the argument goes, it is a strong indication of a general failure of public-sector capacity”.[51] However, “with the sale or lease of a public good comes more than simply a privatized service; alongside it comes a wide set of postcolonial institutional forces that intervene in state-citizen relations and North-South dynamics”.[52]

Sovereign immunity

Despite claiming goals of “good governance and anti-corruption″[53] the World Bank requires sovereign immunity from countries it deals with.[54][55][56][57][58] Sovereign immunity waives a holder from all legal liability for their actions. It is proposed that this immunity from responsibility is a “shield which [The World Bank] wants resort to, for escaping accountability and security by the people.”[54] As the United States has veto power, it can prevent the World Bank from taking action against its interests.[54]

At this time, Greece will not be allowed to leave the Euro and the European Union.
Any country that excepts the loan is doomed. They will not be able to pay more then the interest, never paying off the original loan. What will the future hold for Greece, we will see.

This is only the beginning.

What women mean?

Amendment
This is from an email I received. Tongue in cheek humor, you be the judge!

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine : This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes : If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing : This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead : This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh : This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay : This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks : A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . That will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever : Is a woman's way of saying GO TO HELL

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it : Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself.. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

It's All About Honor!

Golf is much more than great drives, clutch shots, remarkable shots and sinking that wicked putt. Honor. Integrity. Ethical conduct. Knowing the rules, following them.

Calling a penalty on yourself. Would you do it? Before you say yes, how about if it cost you over $400,000, your first golf championship ever? If you knew that no one saw it, that upon review, only a slow motion camera saw what was only felt on a backswing?

I have never heard of Brian Davis, the golfer in question. But he will be remembered.

Zeitgeist Part One and Two

This is a very long video, an hour and 50 minutes, called Zeitgeist. It explores and questions everything you may hold dear. Religion, politics, mankind, money, control, war, everything you thought you knew. Or were told was true. It may get you mad, make you reason, make you think, but it will make you do something. This is not a 9 minute you-tube you are used to, this is a full length movie. It has been around for awhile.
This is not an attempt on my part to change anyone's mind on anything, but the sharing of information is the goal here.

Part 2 The Addendum
This is one hour and 59 minutes long. Yes another full length movie. It came out last year and continues with how the money rules and debt control everything we do on an everyday basis. The creation of the world's money is all a slight of hand. You may not be able to do anything about it, but it helps to be aware.

A week without blogging?

I have something to take care of for the next week or so in my spare time, which everyone knows, when you blog, no matter how much fun, uses all your spare time. It is nothing serious, but it is important to me. I am not on vacation, I wish.

Until then Caddyshack will have to do.

Caddyshack Cinderella Man

Now that it's time for some serious golf like the Masters, let's have Carl show us how it's done!

and of course Ty shares his philosophy of Zen golf!

Tired of your Pants Falling Down?

Come on, I meant off a hangar in a closet! Click on the title to read from the blog "A Suitable Wardrobe" narrated by a gentleman named Will, a man of considerable style, knowledge and charm. Each time I visit, I learn something new from him. His post about the Savile Row pants hanging fold tip was particularly intriguing. It has happened to all of us at one time or another, watching clean pants or trousers hit the floor sharing space with the dust bunnies that reside in the best of closets. It really works, I tried it! Enjoy.

P.S. Admit it, you tried it after you read this didn't you?
